Black Friday Recap: P2P Snacks - Issue #14
I haven’t made too many changes from the 41212(2) that I’ve played over the last few weeks, but I’m officially bored with it. My attention span for tactics and formations is slim, so expect a new formation next week…likely a 3-back or 433 variant. I’m hoping that with the changes EA has made over the past few weeks, I’ll be able to come up with something clever and enjoyable. Also, a quick shoutout to my dude H00bear for snagging a 20-0 with the 41212(2) tactics. See, they work :P
To close out a very snacky installment, here are 5 observations from the past week:
The weird key to wide tactics this year has been setting attacking width on 10. Yep, 10. That’s shocking from a real soccer standpoint. You generally want to take advantage of wide areas but interceptions from those areas seem to be so easy that you need to force players closer together to take advantage of space between the lines.
L1/LB skill moves are very effective and very fun.
Players with a high attacking positioning stat tend to be able to take crosses down because of the space they create. Surprising? No. Useful? Yes.
Aggressive defending is easy to punish. I’m likely to switch my defensive style to balanced as pressure on heavy touch or possession loss seems to always leave a through ball option.
LB+RB Y/ L1+R1 Triangle over the top balls are broken.
That’s it! If you want some more of my thoughts on Black Friday, check out this week's FUT Weekly Podcast. I took over hosting duties for Ben as he was out sick with COVID. Hopefully, he has a speedy recovery! Big thanks for consistently checking these out. Good luck with the week ahead!
Best,
